Code of Conduct
Welcome to the Indigenous History and Heritage Gathering! Our gathering serves as a platform for individuals to come together and share knowledge in a respectful environment. To prioritize safety and respect for all participants, our code of conduct is in place to ensure that every attendee feels valued and protected throughout the gathering.
By attending the Indigenous History and Heritage Gathering, attendees agree to:
- Be considerate and respectful to all attendees.
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior or speech.
- Speak up if they observe anything at an event that conflicts with this Code of Conduct. If you are being harassed or feel uncomfortable, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of IHHG staff immediately.
What is Considered Unacceptable Behaviour?
- Harassment: Harassment or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to harassment based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or nationality.
- Disruption: Disruptive behavior that interferes with conference sessions, workshops, or social gatherings is unacceptable.
- Inappropriate Conduct: Any form of physical or verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, or coercion directed towards other participants, speakers, or staff is strictly prohibited.
Consequences
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Offenders may be warned, expelled from IHHG without refund, or banned from future IHHG events.
